Type: Ready-to-use agent application.
Self-hosted agent workspace that includes the OpenHands coding agent and supports other coding-agent backends.
Capabilities: Coding-agent conversations, backend switching, scheduled/event-driven automations and integrations.
MIT-licensed application. Model and infrastructure charges are separate; hosted plan prices are not asserted. This is a ready-to-use application bundling an agent, not an agent-construction framework. Existing Codex and Claude Code tool links identify supported alternative backends.

Getting started
Prerequisites: Node.js 24+, uv, and Docker for container isolation. Install: npm install -g @openhands/agent-canvas For per-conversation Docker execution on supported macOS/Linux setups: OH_CONVERSATION_RUNTIME=docker agent-canvas Open http://localhost:8000 and configure backend/model access. See the official Windows and self-hosting guides for those deployments.
Security & permissions
Native mode grants the agent access to the host filesystem and commands. Docker execution does not sandbox the complete Canvas service; follow the official self-hosting guide for authentication and network exposure.
